Contrasting emotions..
As I landed in the city that I have missed for the past 2 years, everything felt different. Even the airport has additions. The roads are better, the traffic is worse. There are new hugge buildings that have cropped up everywhere. Many trees are gone, but new plants have been grown. The whole landscape is changed. More lights, less lonely roads. The flyovers which were incomplete when I left are all standing in a newly finished glory. Its as if I have been standing still all this while and Bangalore has moved on...
As I reached the home I have been away from for the past 2 years, everything remained the same. The garden is its same old overgrown self. The gate, the garage, the sofa, the TV, nothing has changed. The staircase is as it is. Even everything in my room remains unchanged. The bed, the cot, the table, the curtains and the cupboards are all as they were. The mirror is the same, but the person in the mirror staring back at me is different. Its as if the house has been standing still all this while and I have moved on...

:) Hey Deepthi
Time has stood still? Being "home" is bittersweet isnt it? Some things have changed, some things havent, some people are the same, some have moved on, prices seem like they have hit the roof, everyone, even new borns sport cell phones!
Yes :) enjoy it while you're there. You'll come back and relive those moments.

Can relate to ur contrasting emotions...
I felt the same thing when I came back...
It was as though my life had stopped when I went and I expected Bangalore to be what it was 5 yrs ago...I was trying to pick up and start where I'd left...But alas, I can't find my way around even my old haunts...The familiar places have all changed...
Strange feeling...Gives me the creeps that I can't feel at home in my own hometown...
But I'm glad that ur home atleast hasn't changed...For me, even that has changed, no same old room, no same old table, no same old garden...
Well, I got carried away...Enjoy ur trip Deeps...Will catch up with u soon...
